Bowling-More Physical or Mental? |
Is your issue tactical?
|
Someone very wise was once asked if bowling was more mental or physical. The response was that bowling is 100% mental and 100% physical. It really takes commitment and dedication to both your physical and mental game to succeed. That's why it is important in addressing a student's needs to determine whether the item of concern is physical, mental, or some combination of the two.
Why bowling lessons?Simply put, lessons make economic sense and bowling more enjoyable. You've spent $100-300 (or more!) for equipment (ball(s) and shoes), $400-1000+ to bowl a league for a season, as well as your valuable time. Wouldn't it be a great idea to knock down more pins on a regular basis? If you think about it, throwing a ball which is between 6 and 16 pounds down a 60 foot lane which is 3 1/2 feet wide trying to knock down ten pins arranged in a triangle is not something which comes natural to anyone.
|
An important aspect of bowling, especially as you get more experienced, are your tactical decisions, which include not only those you make on the lanes but those that involve the equipment you have or may want to have to allow you to be more competitive. Having great equipment, especially bowling balls and shoes, is simply not enough if you do not know how to use them properly.
More on lessons
Private and group lessons are available depending on your time and budget. Private lessons are $50 per hour, group lessons can be as little as $15 per hour per bowler with a group of four bowlers. I also offer lessons using FocusBand which are $65 per hour with two one- hour lessons. FocusBand helps measure and teach you how to train your brain to be more efficient while bowling. My goal is to reach as many bowlers as possible in a meaningful way to help them improve and enjoy bowling.
